Touch Sensitivity

The keys sensitivity vary according to the frequency range. The lower keys have a heavier touch whereas the higher range keys have a lighter touch. This creates sensitivity very similar to an acoustic piano. However you are able to change the sensitivity to your own preferences – this is useful for children playing the piano, people who are heavy handed or those who perhaps are unable to press hard due to arthritis.

  • the LCD display is big with a background light and so it is easy to see
  • lots of great sounds and rhythms
  • comes with a padded bench and music rest
  • Graded Hammer Standard action makes it feel like a piano rather than keyboard and was not noisy
  • looks and feels like an acoustic piano
  • loads of features and fun to play
  • takes up less space than an acoustic

Customer Dislikes

  • piano cabinet doesn’t look that great
  • only 64 notes of polyphony

Summary

The Yamaha YDP V240 is a great digital piano to play and is the next best thing if you can’t afford a Clavinova. You get an awful lot packed into this model and at a reasonable price too.
