Casio AP220 Celviano Piano Review

Looking for a fantastic looking piano with top reviews and optimal performance? The Casio AP220 celviano digital piano is a lovely piece of furniture that anyone would be proud to own. I have been really impressed with the customer feedback and reviews for this piano which have all said it is a great digital piano of top quality.

I have to admit that from looking at the picture my first thought was that of a Yamaha clavinova but Casio. Perhaps this is the Casio version? Lets see what is has to offer.

Casio AP220 Product Features

  • This piano has 88 full sized keys that are weighted with scale hammer action and also have the tri-sensor feature of Casio.
  • The touch sensitivity is 3 levels or you can turn it off altogether.
  • There are various effects including reverb, chorus, layers and splitting.
  • The polyphony is 128 and there are 16 different tones which is very conprehensive.
  • What I like is the duet mode – if only I had had this when I was younger as I played duets with a school friend twice a week.
  • It comes with 3 pedals, built in speakers and amplifier and 2 headphone sockets.
  • Recording and connection to the computer is also standard with this piano.
  • If you are interested in the dimensions then here they are: 54.9” (W) x 16.8” (D) x 32.9” (H) with a weight of 82.7 lbs.

At the present time Amazon, the Casio AP220 Celviano has 15 reviews with an average star rating of 5 out of 5! Pretty impressive hey?

More About Celviano Pianos

This piano is part of Casios celviano range (sounds similar to clavinova dont you think?) which have been especially designed for casio AP220premium digital pianos with a grand piano experience in mind. Therefore they all look and feel and sound like a real acoustic piano or even grand piano!

Casio AP220

This particular Celviano has stereo grand piano sounds and the keyboard action has been upgradeed to include the tri-sensor system. Now I have looked everywhere to try and find out what this actually means and there is nothing not even on the official Casio website.

Also it boasts linear morphin AiF – what on earth is that I hear you say! Well I did some more researching around and I did find out exactly what this one means.

Customer Reviews

As I mentioned above the overall star rating of the Casio AP220 was 5 and I have yet to come across and negative feedback when searching for Casio AP220 reviews on the internet. If you come across any then please leave a comment.

Here are the pros that most commonly were mentioned:

  • keys have a lovely feel and response in the right way whatever style or speed of music you are playing
  • great looking just like an upright piano
  • sounds are really full both at high and low pitch

One customer made an interesting comment saying that you get the benefits of an acoustic piano without the maintenance costs involved with a real piano – food for thought!

I would definitely recommend this Casio AP220 Celviano.
